Mark Patterson

Having joined the University in September 2016, I am responsible for leading on outreach, recruitment and widening participation activities for the University’s Medicine and Health programmes.

I am responsible for organising and delivering our Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work events in collaboration with academics within the School of Healthcare, as well as our Dentistry Taster Days in collaboration with staff from the School of Dentistry. I also deliver our programme of post-16 talks and workshops at schools and colleges across the country.  I am also responsible for coordinating a wide range of subject taster sessions for the University’s Reach for Excellence programme.

I coordinate our student volunteers across the faculty, advising and reporting on the wide range of activity they undertake over the course of the year.

I also co-lead an Office for Students funded project, Headstart in Healthcare, aimed at increasing the recruitment of under-represented groups to healthcare courses.
